POST-PUNK PIONEERS THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM GENERATING STATION COMPLEX & AUTUMN 2026 EUROPEAN TOUR

Electronic rock trailblazers reunite classic core lineup for a hard-hitting new studio record via COP International, followed by a 12-date European tour.

LOS ANGELES / TODMORDEN — Seminal post-punk and electronic rock icons The Cassandra Complex have officially announced their forthcoming studio album, Generating Station Complex, to be released via COP International Records. To celebrate the release, the band will hit the road this October and November for a European headline tour, featuring special guests SJÖBLOM.

Crafted across two transatlantic creative hubs—Magic Library Studio West in Venice Beach, California, and Magic Library Studio North in Todmorden, Yorkshire—the record sees founding members Rodney Orpheus (vocals, synthesisers, drum machines), Paul Dillon (synthesisers, drum machines), and Andy Booth (guitars, keyboards) join forces once again, featuring guest bass guitar by Volker Zacharias.

Produced by Rodney Orpheus, Generating Station Complex delivers a blistering sonic evolution: driving drum machines, razor-sharp guitars, and hypnotic synthesizer textures backing Orpheus’s unmistakable vocal delivery. Bridging the band’s Leeds origins with cutting-edge modern production, the album reimagines and solidifies definitive powerhouse anthems—including underground club classics like “Moscow Idaho,” “The War Against Sleep,” “Nightfall,” and “One Millionth Happy Customer.

“Seeing the incredible crowd reaction night after night on our 40th anniversary tour was overwhelming—not just from longtime fans, but from a whole new generation discovering these songs for the very first time. It made us realize how vital this music still is and made us want to capture the definitive studio versions for today’s audience. We wanted to capture the energy and raw grit that defined us from day one, but with the full weight, depth, and punch of where our sound is right now. Hearing these tracks come alive again with Andy and Paul was electric. It’s loud, direct, and completely uncompromising.”
— Rodney Orpheus

“The Cassandra Complex has always stood at the vanguard of the dark alternative scene—ahead of their time then, and just as vital now. ‘Generating Station Complex’ is a masterclass in how post-punk and electronic aggression should sound. It honors their roots while sounding utterly contemporary. We are thrilled to bring this record to fans worldwide.”
— Christian Petke, Founder & CEO of COP International

The album announcement follows on the heels of the band’s massive 40th anniversary world tour, which saw them play 49 shows across 13 countries spanning the UK, mainland Europe, the USA, and Latin America. The Cassandra Complex will bring their powerhouse live performance back to European stages this autumn, culminating with an appearance at Germany’s Plage Noire Festival. More dates around the world are being planned for 2027.

The visual presentation draws a direct line through the group’s visual history, featuring an archival front cover photograph by Linda Molyneux (Leeds, 1985) and cover design by acclaimed British author and designer Antony Johnston. Johnston is a New York Times bestselling writer whose work includes The Coldest City, adapted into the feature film Atomic Blonde, as well as Wasteland, Dead Space, novels, graphic fiction, and major video-game projects. A longtime friend of the band, he also created the cover artwork for The Cassandra Complex album The Plague.

COP International Signs Legendary Act The Cassandra Complex

COP International proudly welcomes iconic industrial rock pioneers, The Cassandra Complex, to our roster of exceptional artists.

Originating in the mid-eighties, The Cassandra Complex swiftly garnered attention for their distinct fusion of electronics, post-punk aesthetics, guitar-driven soundscapes, and the commanding vocals of Rodney Orpheus. Tracks such as “Moscow Idaho,” “One Millionth Happy Customer,” and “The War Against Sleep” catapulted them to fame across Europe. Extensive tours solidified their position as one of the foremost post-punk bands of their time.

Rodney Orpheus has also worked in the field of music technology helping to create and promote much of the tech that musicians around the world use today, particularly VST (Virtual Studio Technology) which revolutionized the music industry. He has worked with artists as diverse as Kevin Godley (10cc, Godley & Creme), Sinead O’Connor, Sisters of Mercy, Die Krupps, and Future Sound of London.

“When Rodney and I crossed paths we had an instant connection. Our shared enthusiasm and passion for music laid the perfect groundwork for a business partnership. Working alongside The Cassandra Complex, a band with such a profound influence on the industry, fills me with immense excitement.” – Christian Petke, Founder of COP International

We are incredibly pleased that The Cassandra Complex have chosen to collaborate with COP International following a period of self-released material. We value their trust and confidence in our label and eagerly anticipate a fruitful partnership. The Cassandra Complex is currently working on a new album and re-recording some of their back catalog. As the band celebrates its 40-year anniversary in 2024, we are already conceptualizing a limited edition reissue of their work to mark this momentous occasion.

We are thrilled to join forces with The Cassandra Complex as they continue their musical journey, and we eagerly anticipate unveiling the next chapter of their storied career together.
