POST-PUNK PIONEERS THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM GENERATING STATION COMPLEX & AUTUMN 2026 EUROPEAN TOUR

Electronic rock trailblazers reunite classic core lineup for a hard-hitting new studio record via COP International, followed by a 12-date European tour.

LOS ANGELES / TODMORDEN — Seminal post-punk and electronic rock icons The Cassandra Complex have officially announced their forthcoming studio album, Generating Station Complex, to be released via COP International Records. To celebrate the release, the band will hit the road this October and November for a European headline tour, featuring special guests SJÖBLOM.

Crafted across two transatlantic creative hubs—Magic Library Studio West in Venice Beach, California, and Magic Library Studio North in Todmorden, Yorkshire—the record sees founding members Rodney Orpheus (vocals, synthesisers, drum machines), Paul Dillon (synthesisers, drum machines), and Andy Booth (guitars, keyboards) join forces once again, featuring guest bass guitar by Volker Zacharias.

Produced by Rodney Orpheus, Generating Station Complex delivers a blistering sonic evolution: driving drum machines, razor-sharp guitars, and hypnotic synthesizer textures backing Orpheus’s unmistakable vocal delivery. Bridging the band’s Leeds origins with cutting-edge modern production, the album reimagines and solidifies definitive powerhouse anthems—including underground club classics like “Moscow Idaho,” “The War Against Sleep,” “Nightfall,” and “One Millionth Happy Customer.

“Seeing the incredible crowd reaction night after night on our 40th anniversary tour was overwhelming—not just from longtime fans, but from a whole new generation discovering these songs for the very first time. It made us realize how vital this music still is and made us want to capture the definitive studio versions for today’s audience. We wanted to capture the energy and raw grit that defined us from day one, but with the full weight, depth, and punch of where our sound is right now. Hearing these tracks come alive again with Andy and Paul was electric. It’s loud, direct, and completely uncompromising.”
— Rodney Orpheus

“The Cassandra Complex has always stood at the vanguard of the dark alternative scene—ahead of their time then, and just as vital now. ‘Generating Station Complex’ is a masterclass in how post-punk and electronic aggression should sound. It honors their roots while sounding utterly contemporary. We are thrilled to bring this record to fans worldwide.”
— Christian Petke, Founder & CEO of COP International

The album announcement follows on the heels of the band’s massive 40th anniversary world tour, which saw them play 49 shows across 13 countries spanning the UK, mainland Europe, the USA, and Latin America. The Cassandra Complex will bring their powerhouse live performance back to European stages this autumn, culminating with an appearance at Germany’s Plage Noire Festival. More dates around the world are being planned for 2027.

The visual presentation draws a direct line through the group’s visual history, featuring an archival front cover photograph by Linda Molyneux (Leeds, 1985) and cover design by acclaimed British author and designer Antony Johnston. Johnston is a New York Times bestselling writer whose work includes The Coldest City, adapted into the feature film Atomic Blonde, as well as Wasteland, Dead Space, novels, graphic fiction, and major video-game projects. A longtime friend of the band, he also created the cover artwork for The Cassandra Complex album The Plague.

Nazi Goths Fuck Off – new single available now!

Legendary post-punk pioneers The Cassandra Complex are back with a fiery new single, Nazi Goths Fuck Off, a bold cover of a track originally written and performed by Finnish artist Suzi Sabotage. The single, released by COP International Records, is a no-holds-barred protest against the rise of fascism and far-right ideologies in Europe. With the German general election looming, the release is a direct response to the growing influence of the neo-Nazi AfD (Alternative für Deutschland) party.

The song’s raw, unapologetic lyrics make a powerful statement:

“This is not your playground / We don’t want you around / Your bigotry’s not welcome here / So drop dead and disappear.”

Rodney Orpheus, lead singer of The Cassandra Complex, says:

“This song is more than a protest—it’s a battle cry. Fascism has no place in music, culture, or society. Covering Suzi Sabotage’s brilliant original felt like the perfect way to amplify this message and stand in solidarity against hate.”

COP International Records’ head Christian Petke adds:

“At a time when far-right ideologies are threatening the core of democracy, it’s vital for artists to take a stand. The Cassandra Complex has delivered a blistering anthem that’s as urgent as it is uncompromising. We’re proud to release it and help spread its message.”

Nazi Goths Fuck Off captures the band’s iconic blend of industrial energy and punk attitude, revitalized with a sense of urgency for the modern era. The track is more than a song—it’s a call to action.

The Cassandra Complex has long been known for their politically charged music, and this release underscores their unwavering commitment to activism through art. The single is available on all major streaming platforms.

Listen. Protest. Resist.

The Cassandra Complex would like to thank:

• Vox Sinistra of Strict Tempo Records for coming up with the idea of us doing it

The Cassandra Complex was formed in 1984 by Rodney Orpheus (vocals, synths, drums machine), Paul Dillon (electronics), and Andy Booth (guitar, keyboards). Their unique synthesis of post-punk, goth, EBM and industrial music, coupled with their exciting, powerful multimedia-driven live show and Rodney Orpheus’ commanding voice and stage presence proved irresistible to audiences, and since then they have toured extensively, filled club dance floors, and topped indie charts around the world. Songs such as Moscow Idaho, One Millionth Happy Customer, Penny Century, and Nightfall have been lauded as classics of the genre.

After a long hiatus they recently returned to the spotlight with the album The Plague, recorded during COVID lockdown, which spent 8 weeks at the top of the German Alternative Chart (DAC). In March 2024 they released Death & Sex, which similarly shot straight to #1 in the DAC for multiple weeks. Both albums are available from COP International Records on CD and on all streaming services.

Rodney Orpheus has also worked as an acclaimed producer, remixer, and music technologist, working with artists such as The Sisters of Mercy, Kraftwerk, Beborn Beton, The Future Sound of London, Die Krupps, Sinead O’Connor, Girls Under Glass, Faith & the Muse, Within Temptation, and many more.

VIP Tickets

There have been some questions lately about “VIP tickets” for shows, so just to make things clear:

WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR “MEET & GREET” OPPORTUNITIES, AND WE NEVER WILL

We have been touring for 40 years now , and after EVERY show, Rodney can always be found at the merchandising booth, talking with fans and signing autographs. He has done this at every single concert since the day we started, even at the recent show in Charleroi where he was so sick he had to go to hospital after the show – he still stayed long enough to sign autographs first.

Your ticket money enables us to keep making the music that we love, so our belief has always been that if you buy a ticket for our shows – ANY ticket – then the least we can do is say thank you. If you want to buy some merchandise and have that signed, then that’s even better, but you don’t have to. We will sign your ticket stubs, your CDs and records, whatever is important for you, for FREE.

Just because someone is rich enough to pay more for a ticket, that doesn’t mean that they deserve more. All of our fans are equally important to us, regardless of how much they pay. As long as you like The Cassandra Complex, that’s enough for us.

The Cassandra Complex release new album Death & Sex

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb 9, 2024 COP International Records are proud to announce the release of Death & Sex, the latest album from legendary post-punk group The Cassandra Complex.

40 years ago Rodney Orpheus, Paul Dillon, and Andy Booth got together in a basement in Leeds, England with a collection of cheap second-hand guitar pedals, synthesisers, and drum machines, and created a post-punk revolution in sound with songs like Moscow Idaho, One Millionth Happy Customer, and Nightfall, which filled alternative dancefloors and topped Indie charts around the world.

In 1993 they released the album Sex & Death to a limited audience. Now, 30 years later, the band have re-recorded this classic record from scratch as Death & Sex and it will finally achieve a worldwide release for the first time as part of their 40 year anniversary celebrations.

Death & Sex features original founders of the band Rodney Orpheus (vocals, synths, drum machines) and Andy Booth (guitar), with long time additional members Chris Haskett (Henry Rollins Band, David Bowie) on guitar and Mera Roberts (Faith and the Muse, Black Tape for a Blue Girl) on cello, plus new member Brent Heinze (Probe 7) on keyboards.

The album, along with many other classic songs from the entire 40 year back catalog of The Cassandra Complex, will be featured on the forthcoming CX40 world tour beginning in the UK in March, and taking in shows in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic, Austria, Latin America, and the USA throughout 2024.

Rodney Orpheus explains: “When we first wrote these songs we just didn’t have the tools we needed to fully realise them the way we wanted. Now 30 years later we can finally make them sound the way they always sounded inside our heads.”

Christian Petke, CEO of COP International Records says, “When the band told me that they would start to re-record their back catalog, I was 100% on board. It can be a dicey proposition to “fix” an old record, but I knew that they had the experience and the skill to pull this off. It was a real pleasure to see these classic gems come to new life, and the fans of The Cassandra Complex will love this fresh take.”

Track Listing

  1. Mouth of Heaven
  2. Voices
  3. Kneel to the Boss
  4. Give Me What I Need

The album will be released on March 8, 2024 on CD, Bandcamp download, and all streaming services, with cover art by the legendary Greg Rolfes.

In tandem with this release, COP International will also be releasing a newly remastered version of the previous album by The Cassandra Complex, The Plague, which spent 4 weeks at #1 in the German Alternative Charts on original release.
